MOREE PLAINS ELECTION OF DEPUTY MAYOR 2017/2018

Councillor Stephen Ritchie was re-elected unopposed to the Office of Deputy Mayor at the Ordinary Meeting of Council held today.

On accepting the Deputy Mayoral position, Councillor Ritchie said “I am very proud and honoured to represent the Moree Plains community as Deputy Mayor. As has been the case for many of the new Councillors, it has been quite a learning curve but I greatly appreciate the support of my fellow Councillors and senior staff. I am looking forward to getting on with the job for the year ahead.”

The term of office for both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will run until September 2018; at which time both positions will become vacant and up for re-election amongst the current Councillors.
