Community What's Happening Moree Community Library

Earlier this week, Council advised that the Moree Community Library would be completely closed for the duration of this week as a result of construction works.

Given the nature of the works still to be undertaken and having regard to the comfort of library patrons, Council has decided that the Moree Community Library will remain closed next week, reopening on Monday 9 October 2017.

The works are funded by the NSW State Library on behalf of the NSW Government as part of the Public Library Infrastructure Grant program which will allocate $15 million over four years to enhance library services and facilities across New South Wales.

The works include the development of vibrant and accessible places and spaces within the Moree Community Library including improved access to the lift, new circulation desk, redesigned floor layout and new shelving arrangements for the collection.

Regional Library Manager Sally Walters said the library was continually evolving to meet the needs of the community.

“We’re excited to be able to continue on this journey with the assistance of this grant,” Ms Walters said.

General Manager Lester Rodgers said, “This is a great opportunity for the Moree Community Library and I thank the community for their patience and understanding during the works period.

“We know that the Community Library is well patronised - I apologise for the inconvenience caused while Council makes the library a better place for all of us to enjoy.”
